The increasingly frequent use of multimedia content and calls also on the move, has made it possible to contribute massively to the development of headsets of all types. Today on the market there are really many models, but certainly, among the most sought after and performing ones, there are the AirPods. Gud Tech Tricks is the place where you can get more details about the latest technology.
Apple's earphones are therefore among the most popular gadgets of recent years and are tempting not only for iOS users. In fact, in this article, I show you how to use the AirPods on Android smartphones, so that you can take advantage of these excellent earphones on practically any device.
Connect the AirPods on Android
The rigid Apple ecosystem often makes life difficult for those who want to combine Apple devices and services with devices and operating systems other than those of Cupertino.
However, at least as far as AirPods are concerned, they can also be used on Android devices.
Here are the steps to follow:
Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet from the toggle bar or from the relevant item in the Settings ;
Press and hold the configuration button on the AirPods case until you notice a white flashing light;
Start a scan of the Bluetooth devices in the area with your smartphone, and finally select the AirPods.
AirPods on Android: strengths and weaknesses
We have therefore seen in the previous paragraphs how to pair the AirPods to Android. However, to be fair, we need to define the merits and defects of using these headsets on Google's operating system devices.
Certainly, the AirPods are really good earphones, able to return a crystal clear and excellent quality sound; no less important is the comfort factor, as they tend to be considered headphones that do not bother wearing them even for prolonged use. The main flaw is clearly the loss of all those advanced features present on iOS, obviously due to a concept of integration within the Apple ecosystem.
For example, the ability to view the charging status of the earphones will be missing, and it will not even be possible to activate the classic connection pop-up once the headphones are paired.
However, to remedy these shortcomings, in the next paragraph I will show you applications to connect AirPods to Android.
App to use AirPods on Android
There are therefore a number of applications that can improve the experience of using AirPods on Android.
Generally speaking, these are tools capable of overcoming those constraints due to the integration of the two ecosystems, which however do not compromise the most basic use.
So here are some apps to use AirPods on Android :
AirBattery: This is an application capable, first of all, of controlling the level of autonomy of the AirPods; you can also activate the automatic opening of the app after connecting with the earphones, and even set the automatic pause of multimedia contents when the headphones are removed. AirBattery is a free tool but it features in-app purchases.
MaterialPods: App very similar to what we saw on AirBattery, from which the main features are replicated.
You can then monitor the charge status of the AirPods and enable the automatic pause: you can also configure the call to Google Assistant. Again this is a free app with optional purchases.
